Hosted by Walpole and Moriarty Events, we invited a selection of Walpole members and friends to the stunning Kin House in Wiltshire for a day of workshops, insights and expert talks designed to inspire marketeers from every sector of British luxury

On Tuesday 6th February 2024, a selection of guests from Walpole member brands and friends travelled to the edge of The Cotswolds for a day of workshops, talks and insightful conversations to stimulate and inspire marketeers from every sector of the luxury industry. Hosted jointly by Helen Brocklebank, CEO of Walpole, and Georgina Griffith-Jones, Founder of Moriarty, the event – entitled The Modern Luxury Mindset – was hosted at Kin House, a stunning Grade II listed Georgian manor in the Wiltshire village of Kington Langley. Set among walled gardens and private woodland, a recent refurbishment has not only ensured that the location provided a stunning decorative backdrop to the day's events, but that there were superb spaces for varied activities on the programme.

Starting with a Lululemon yoga session in the vaulted event space, guests enjoyed a breakfast by the roaring fire in the reception room and hall before the start of the programme: a talk in the former greenhouse given by transformation coach Jo Glynn-Smith. This was followed by a panel on key emerging marketing trends chaired by Helen Brocklebank and featuring Emma de la Fosse, CCO of creative agency Edelman, Isobel Farmiloe, Brand Strategy Director of Dazed Studio, Adam Hemming, Vice President Marketing at Fiskars Group and Anant Sharma, Founder and CEO of digitally-minded design consultancy Matter Of Form.

After a convivial sharing lunch, the afternoon started with a talk by Strategic Consultant, Kev Chesters, about why luxury brands need to start thinking like gangs before a final talk and breakout session with Jo Glynn-Smith on personal branding. To finish, there was opportunity for conversation and catch-ups over Eight Lands cocktails in the bar, as well as calligraphy classes and manicures, as well as guided tours of the entire establishment from the in-house team. Finally, a goodie bag packed with snacks for the road – or tracks for those headed back to the capital by train.
