Furthermore, Boodles iconic Raindance Ring now resides in the permanent jewellery collection of the world-renowned Victoria and Albert Museum in London, as an icon of British jewellery design. In 2020, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Raindance, Boodles launched a Raindance ring set in platinum, with rare pink and white diamonds. Never content to rest on its laurels, Boodles continues to evolve and strive for excellence. This commitment to creating the extraordinary, in addition to the company’s impeccable reputation and prestige in the arena of fine jewellery, led to Boodles being chosen as the star of a Channel 4 television documentary in 2014. Entitled ‘The Million Pound Necklace: Inside Boodles’, the documentary was watched by a global audience of over two million.
Whilst the in-store experience is still as important as ever at Boodles, the team are at their best when ‘out and about’ looking after their loyal customers and meeting new faces at the many events Boodles put on each year – over 350 at the last count…! Boodles sponsor a variety of prestigious events, including ‘The Boodles Tennis’ at Stoke Park, as well as being the title sponsor of The Cheltenham Gold Cup, a third successive garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, continued sponsorship of the Boodles May Festival at Chester, associate sponsorship of Salon Privé at Blenheim Palace, to name a few.
Traceability is also a central focus for Boodles, envisioning a future shaped by its sustainable development efforts and underpinned by its commitment to setting a gold standard for ethical and sustainable practices in the jewellery sector. In 2021, Boodles launched ‘Peace of Mined’ – a story of provenance featuring diamonds sourced directly from The Cullinan Mine in South Africa – a historic mine that produced Cullinan I and Cullinan II both of which were worn by Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at her Coronation in 1953. Furthermore, Boodles has moved to source all gold from one single mine: the Yanfolila Mine in West Africa, in a pioneering move by the leading jeweller. Single Mine Origin (SMO) gold provides a traceable, auditable chain of custody for every gram of gold produced, from the mine all the way to the finished piece of jewellery. The company’s contributions to projects such as schools surrounding The Cullinan Mine in South Africa, planting trees in the Amazon, and support for the Royal Ballet Schools programme, exemplify its commitment to education, community and the environment.
Once a year, Boodles produces a spectacular High Jewellery collection, alongside their many icon collections. In 2023, ‘A Family Journey: Around Europe in 10 Days’ was unveiled. The collection follows Nicholas Wainwright, Boodles Chairman, as he rediscovers present-day Europe, encompassing a variety of rich cultural experiences that have been the source of inspiration behind the designs of the new jewellery pieces and suites.
