Originally owned by Sir Patrick Murray of Ochtertyre, Scotland’s Oldest Working Distillery, The Glenturret, has an extraordinary provenance that is second to none in Scottish whisky.

The Glenturret Distillery is mentioned in the purchase records of the Barony of Ochtertyre as far back as 1763. Today, the distillery still resides in its original location on the edge of the historic town of Crieff. This peaceful place known locally as ‘The Hosh’ (Gaelic for ‘the foot’) – is a picturesque and secluded setting surrounded by green rolling hills overlooking the fast flowing river Turret, the distillery’s water source.

The Glenturret is dedicated to traditional handcrafted whisky making. Slow batch production, and an unusually slow distillation in hand-beaten copper stills combine to influence and underpin the unique character of the distillery’s new make spirit, a spirit shaped by hand and heart. The distillery is home to six traditional Dunnage Warehouses which hold a vast range of casks, each unique in flavour profile. The culmination of skill, knowledge and time is expertly brought together by The Glenturret’s Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno. Bob’s intimate knowledge of the production and maturation stages of whisky making allow him to craft a unique range of Single Malts that harmonise both the distillery style and influence from the cask. Whiskies from The Glenturret are constantly evolving, carrying different strengths and characteristics that showcase each individual expression at its best, while also retaining 100% natural colour from the aging process.

The transformation of The Glenturret, reimagined through the fine crystal lens of its new French owners, Lalique, culminated in 2021 with the creation of the Lalique Boutique, the first of its kind in Scotland and a remarkable new gastronomy and hospitality offering at the distillery. A spectacular new Lalique Restaurant, Bar, Salon and exclusive Vinoteque, uniquely wrapped in the timeless environment of malt whisky making have now become central to The Glenturret experience.
